What

Is the Zenner Test ?

Dr Karl Zenner

In 1920 Dr.Karl Zenner at Duke University (Norh Carolina U.S.A.), devised a pack of cards that could be used in Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP) experiments. The Study of Parapsychology as it was best known, had become more rigorous. Experiments were conducted from around 1927 and several important ones in 1930. Dr. J.B. Rhine & his wife Dr. Louisa F. Rhine, were particularly notable pioneers in ESP research - with Dr. J.B. Rhine being credited with introducing the term 'Parapsychology & ESP'

Zenner Cards/ESP Cards to test for Psychic Ability

These card are used in a card guessing game

To help test for the presence of ESP in an individual

They are also known as ESP cards

And were devised by Dr.Karl Zenner

Each pack of Zenner cards contain 25 cards

Each with 5 of each of the above symbols circle, wave, star, cross & square

How does the Zenner Experiments work ?

In Zenner-Card ESP experiments

A person is called the 'SENDER' - look at each card in turn

A second person - called the 'PERCIPIENT' - then tries to guess the card being sent through ESP (telepathy)

An experiment may require the 'SENDER' & 'PERCIPIENT' to go through the pack several times

The 'SENDER & PERCIPIENT' can be in adjoining rooms or at some distance from each other

The main criterion is that they cannot communicate with each other except by using ESP
