Meridians of the Body Energy Channels / Pathways The Meridians are like a map that covers the whole body, and sends energy to the whole body There are 12 main meridian channels, with acupuncture points along them They connect the Ch'i or Life Force with the blood flow round the body The Chinese believe that there are 59 meridians and the Indian healers say there are hundreds The 12 main channels are in pairs that match the 6 Yin organs and the 6 Yang organs of the body The body is connected to our mind, emotions and spirit, thus proving that mental, emotional or spiritual issues can lead to physical illness Therapists who work with the meridian-system, can find and treat any blockages that appear in the flow of energy before they result in illness They work with the channel that relates to the particular Yin or Yang organ that needs healing Pathways of Light It is said that Information Energy flows from THE COSMOS through the AURA and into the CHAKRAS It goes back out from the CHAKRAS through the AURA and into THE COSMOS White light is made up of a mixture of colours called a SPECTRUM. The 7 major colurs of the spectrum are red, orange, blue, yellow, green, indigo and violet Chakras resonate in harmony with Subtle Energies encoding within these 7 colours. This is sometimes called our 'inner light'. In addition coloured light flows to and from the Aura via a network of Fine Energy Channels in the body called - MERIDIANS This is how light reaches our body cells, giving them the potent life-sustaining information that has been filtered through the Aura, Chakras & Energy Channels The Caduceus The Flow of Energy from the COSMOS to Humans was often symbolically represented by 'the Caduceus' A staff entwined with 2 serpents bearing a pair of wings at the top - which was carried by Hermes (Mercury) - the messenger of the gods Prana Prana is an Indian word - meaning Life-Force Energy Without it, we would not be alive Prana gives us life in many ways It pours into the body through our Chakras and is contained in the Food we eat the Water we drink and the Air we breathe The Chinese people refer to Pranic Energy as 'Chi' It is also sometimes known as 'Ki or Qi' It moves around the body along the MERIDIANS Free flowing Prana or Chi, lessens & increases our resistance to disease Prana is charged by the Earth's Magnetic Field and enters the body through the Base Chakra - setting up a resonant Elecronmagnetic Flow through the 2nd, 3rd and subsequent Chakras It is carried through the body in the Nervous System and in all the Membranes and Fluids It flows in and around all living things Nadis - Meridians - Energy Channels According to Indian Yogic tradition within our Subtle Energy Fields There are 72,000 Energy Channels called 'Nadis' which connect the Aura & Chakras with our Physical Body Some of these Channels or Meridians are used in acupuncture Yoga & Meditation address three 'Nadis' considered to be the primary Channels - in order to Purify them and enable Life-Force or 'Prana' to flow freely
