The Caduceus

The flow of energy from the Cosmos to Humans, was often symbolically represented by 'The Caduceus'

This symbol is a staff entwined with 2 serpents bearing a pair of wings at the top,

which was carried by Hermes (Mercury) - the Messenger of the gods

'The Caduceus' is a symbol for the awakening of the 7 Major Chakras

The ancient Greek Physician Asclepius, used the 2 intertwined snakes to represent healing of both body and soul

and the symbol is still used today as the Logo of the Medical Profession

Prana

Breath of Life

Prana is an Indian word meaning 'Life-Force Energy'

Without it, we would not be alive

Prana gives us'Life' in many ways

It pours into the body through our Chakras and is contained in the

Food we eat

the Water we drink and

the Air we breathe

The Chinese refer to Pranic Energy as 'Chi', it is also known a 'Ki' or 'Qi'. It moves around the body along the Meridians. Free flowing Prana or 'Chi' lessens stress and increases our resistance to disease. Prana is charged by the Earth's Magnetic Field and enters the body through the Base Chakra - setting up a resonant electron magnetic flow through the 2,3 and subsequent Chakras. It is carried through the body in the Nervous System, and in all the membranes and fluids. It flows in and around all living things

WAYS TO TAKE IN MORE PRANIC NOURISHMENT AND SPARKLE WITH VITALITY

1. Live close to Nature - (away from polluted cities)

2. Take regular exercise (this is an excellent way of reducing stress) - go out for a walk everyday. Make swimming, dancing, singing part of everyday life. Al these activities will help to move Prana around your body

3. Eat sensibly or if you can, eat fresh whole foods (not sprayed with chemicals or genetically modified in any way)

4. Drink pure spring water

5. Try to limit stress (it affects the body's Energy Flow)

Stess can cause the flow of Energy aroung the Aura and Chakras to be interrupted or blocked and illness may result

6. Join Yoga or Tai Chi classes

7. We need positive thoughts, but negative ions -An ionizer will generate oxygen with a minus (negative) charge. The air by the ocean or on a mountainside, has a natural abundance of oxygen with negative ions. When we breathe in, the negative ions carry Pranic Life-Force into the body

8. Breathe deeply - also an excellent way of getting more negative ions into your system

9. Avoid wearing synthetic clothing materials - produce electostatic negative charges that repel beneficial negative ions. This can create and unhealthy environment for the Chakras

Chakra Reawakening Techniques

Pranic Breathing

When you do Full Pranic Breathing, your body moves in a wavelike motion that can be seen as 3 parts of the same breath

STEP 1 Air goes right into the Base of your Lungs, the Diaphragm pushes down on the abdominal organs and your stomach rises

STEP 2 The ribs actullay move apart a little as the chest rises and the stomach falls

STEP 3 The shoulders lift, roll back and down as the top parts of your lungs fill. As you exhale, your whole body sinks and relax

All Pranic Breathing is done through the nose - unless it is blocked - in which case you should endeavor to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth

BREATHING TECHNIQUE

METHOD IN INCREASING YOUR AWARENESS OF THE CHAKRAS

A System of Energy that flows though the body are linked by several Energy Centres and many minor ones, called the Chakras. It is important to work with the Primary Chakras first. By developing an awareness of these threshold energy fields in yourself, you will begin to sense other people's chakras. Increase your awareness by working with each of your chakras in turn

1. Start with the Root Chakra

2. Sit comfortable on the floor and move your hands behind you to the base of the spine, palms facing in, wihtout touching the body

3. Hold you hands about 2,5-5cm (1-2inches) away from your body - you will feel the energy emanating from the Root Chakra. It may feel warm or solid. This area governs the Kidneys, Teeth, Nails and Bones

4. Now move your hand slowly round and up to your Sacral Chakra - hold hands close together, fingertips touching, over the area below your navel. Making sure your fingers are slightly cupped and there are now gaps. This chakra may feel watery - fluid and smooth. It governs the Reproductive System, the Pelvis and Urinary System

5. Now move your hands slowly up to the Solar Plexus Region, which usually feels warm, an sometimes even fiery. This chakra governs the Intestines, Pancreas, Liver and Nervous System

6. Move your hands over the Heart Chakra, where you will feel a lighness, warmth and mobility. It governs the Circulation and the Thymus Gland

7. Keep aware of these Key Energy Centres and the way you are reacting to them, not just through your sense of touch, but also through your 6 sense

8. Now move your hands in turn over the chakras for the Throat - which governs Communication and the Third Eye - Intuition

9. Finally when you reach the Crown Chakra, hold your hands over your head and feel the surging energy radiating from the area that is concerned with your Higher Spiritual Self

10. Once you completed this exercise - you will begin to be albe to sense other people's chakra,s and read whether they are relaxed or blocked, radiant or dull

11. It takes practise, but is essentially a vital connection to their whole auric field and its expression
